In my case I use the IRLZ44 NPN MOSFET as low-side transistor to control the buzzer. The solution is to use a transistor and divide between the control signal and the power consumption. But if we want to use magnetic buzzers with a current consumption higher than 20mA we have to find a different power supply than the digital I/O pin of the microcontroller. 8815207.pdf 19 KB: news (pdf file) /assets/news/8815207.Piezo buzzer have a current consumption lower than 20mA and could therefore be powered by Arduino microcontroller as well as the ESP32.For further information, including SEC filings, visit Diodes' website at Company Contact: Additional engineering, sales, warehouse, and logistics offices are located in Fort Worth, Texas Taipei Hong Kong Manchester Shanghai Shenzhen, China Seongnam-si, South Korea Suwon, South Korea Tokyo, Japan and Munich, Germany, with support offices throughout the world. For further information, visit the Company's website at About Diodes Incorporatedĭiodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a Standard and Poor's SmallCap 600 and Russell 3000 Index company, is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic and analog semiconductor markets. These comprise thermal shutdown, over-current, over-voltage and under-voltage lock-out protection. Product reliability is aided by the PAM8904's low inrush current, low EMI drive technology and a variety of integrated protection features. In shutdown mode, quiescent current is less than 1μA. For example, active current consumption is just 300μA in 1x mode, with an input voltage of 3V, input frequency of 4kHz and driving a 15nF piezo. The sounder driver helps to keep current consumption low and battery life long by employing built-in automatic shutdown and wake-up functions. The charge pump also enables designers to select three different piezo sound pressure levels by offering 1x, 2x and 3x operating modes. Operating from a 2.3V to 5.5V supply at a fixed frequency of 1MHz, the PAM8904 is able to drive a sounder load of up to 15nF, providing a 9V output with a minimal component footprint. With its wide input signal range of 20Hz to 300kHz and ability to deliver high volume at a low operating current, this driver is suitable for a variety of battery-powered applications, including medical systems, alarm clocks and security devices. The PAM8904 is capable of driving piezoelectric sounders up to 18VPP from a 3V power supply. Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the broad discrete, logic and analog semiconductor markets, today introduced the PAM8904 piezo-sounder driver with integrated multi-mode charge pump boost converter.
